Queer Britain

In 2017, BBC Three released this landmark series which shone a light across queer culture around the UK. With each episode ranging from topics such as religion (gulp) to pornography (double gulp). But even though we took big swings, we never forgot the emotion at the heart of these big topics by talking to real queers who live their day to day lives through different circumstances.

Pulled together under the watchful eye of Series Producer Lizzie Wingham, we set out to find relatable contributors and their original stories across the UK who showed the different walks of queer life across the UK. As a gay man who is very much a part of queer culture, I think this series will always be the crown jewel of my work in broadcast work. Still to this day so many people talk about ‘Queer Britain’ and how it was the first time they saw themselves on TV and that is something that will always put a smile on my face.
